Canna tropicanna Gold has a tall, clumping growth habit. The leaves are large, broad and striped with green and yellow. During summer and autumn it displays orange flowers with a bright yellow edge. It is adaptable to many soils, but prefers deep, fertile soil in a sunny to partly shaded, sheltered position. It dies back in winter, but will grow back readily when it warms up. It also needs to be protected from frosts.
