The Queen Palm has a tall growth habit. The leaves are dark green and arch away from the trunk. Dead leaves eventually fall from the tree, but can be pruned earlier to keep the palm looking at its best. In summer it produces pale yellow, impressive looking flowers, followed by an abundance of fruit during winter. It prefers enriched, sandy soils in a sunny position, though it will tolerate some shade. It will also tolerate some drought.
